PODCAST

Empowering Materials + Motivating Conversations

This podcast is hosted by me Katherine Soucie. I created this series as I am dedicated to creating awareness about textiles to inspire knowledge, encourage creativity, promote responsible practices and well being in order to build material community.

We live in a time where there is a lot of misinformation and disconnection to our textiles and materials. This podcast is meant to unpack the truth behind our relationship with materials that continue to shape our history and revolutionise our everyday experience. The goal is to capture motivating and inspiring conversations from individuals who have developed an expertise and intimate knowledge of fibres, resources, processes, techniques and technologies related to textiles.  This podcast is also an invitation to investigate our relationships with materials by creating a space that is inclusive, diverse and reflects the interdisciplinary voices and approaches to making, experiencing and critically engaging with textiles, materials, technologies and processes.

You can look forward to interviews with artists, designers, innovators, educators, writers, entrepreneurs, scientists and creative thinkers who will reveal and uncover their relationship, expertise and experience within textiles.

Through this, I aim to empower and preserve textile knowledge, celebrate and inspire interdisciplinary thinking and approaches. This is a space designed to assist in sharing stories that will serve to develop a better awareness on responsible methods, processes and technologies whilst promoting regenerative and sustainable practices that for the well being of all.

The podcast is independently developed and produced.  Would you consider buying us a coffee?
